Sydney Scrapbook

It’s time for a catchup scrapbook of bits and bobs.

Mama is worn out from preschool hunting and gathering, but as it turns out our efforts paid off as we just found out G got a spot in the pre-school we really wanted for January.  This will be his full on Thursday/Friday home starting at the end of January 2014.  We could not be more excited and I’m not sure why, since I’m pretty sure he won’t remember it…but I know WE will!

This week G said to me, ‘Mama, remember when PaPa was Yellow and the Man with the Hat (in reference to Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat)?

This week Michael said, ‘Ok let’s read Millie and Mo!’

‘Millie and Mo?’  G said.

‘Yeah!  Millie and Mo…the elephants!’

‘Do you mean George and Martha,’ I asked, ‘the hippos?’

G laughed and laughed and laughed.

One morning this week I washed my hair with shampoo I bought in New York and used the conditioner I picked up in LA.

I used the soap I bought in Sydney, washed my face with the cleanser I had shipped to my Dad’s house in Florida and put on the face cream I grabbed in Vancouver.

I combed my hair with the comb G ‘bought’ for me as a gift in San Francisco and brushed my teeth with the toothbrush I picked up in Dallas.

I spritzed myself with the perfume Michael bought for me in Paris and for a split second I thought, ‘my my, how cosmopolitan.’

Then I realized all of these items had been collected in the past six months at which point I decided to lie down on the floor and take a nap.

and Finally:

One day, mid scene at rehearsal, a giant spider ran across the floor.

Michael yelled out…’Oh my God!  Giant spider!’

All the Aussies in the room said…’Aw look.  It’s a baby Huntsman spider.  He won’t hurt you.  He’s just a baby.’

  • OOOOOOHhhh, I loved everythiing about this Blog until you got to the spider bit.,If that’s a baby I would not like to meet it’s folks. What great pictures and how lucky you “Kids” are to have the time to really see that beautiful country at your own pace. Oh yes, the tea pastries could keep me busy for a good hour, a short nap and then, on with the Hunt. What a life// GG

  • Are you aware that I will ask you to re-do all this amazing things when I get there ? Except for the last part with the spider, thanks but no thanks 🙂 I’m so jealous of G’s school !!! Love to all from Paris !
